With over fifteen years of specialized nursing experience — rooted in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), emergency room, and outpatient surgical centers — Giannina has spent her career at the most critical moments of surgical recovery. She saw a gap that troubled her deeply: patients were leaving surgery without the skilled, attentive support their recovery truly demanded. She founded Grande Vida to change that.

What does a post-op concierge nurse actually do?
We stay by your side during the critical first 24–72 hours after surgery — monitoring vitals, managing drains and dressings, assessing for complications, and communicating directly with your surgical team if anything arises. You rest. We watch.
Is this different from a regular caretaker?
Completely. A caretaker helps you feel comfortable. A concierge nurse keeps you safe. We bring ICU-level clinical skills — early complication detection, medication management, and emergency response protocols — directly to your home.
What are some potential complications that clients can miss?
Early signs of infection, seroma, hematoma, respiratory distress, abnormal drain output, medication reactions, and dangerous swelling can all appear within the first 48 hours — and are almost invisible to the untrained eye. We are trained to identify and respond before a complication becomes a crisis.
Do you work with my surgeon?
Yes. We coordinate directly with your surgical team and follows your post-operative care plan precisely. We document your recovery and communicates concerns proactively — so your surgeon is always informed.
How do I book, and when do you arrive?
Text or call us directly. We schedule a brief pre-op call so we understand your procedure and surgeon’s protocol. We arrive before your discharge and remain with you for as long as your care plan requires.
Is Grande Vida available for out-of-town patients?
Yes. We specialize in supporting patients who travel to the DC/MD/VA area for surgery — coordinating your full recovery stay from hotel setup to airport departure, so you never navigate recovery alone.
What is IV hydration therapy and why do I need it after surgery?
Surgery depletes the body of fluids, electrolytes, and nutrients essential for healing. We administer hospital-grade fluids, vitamins, and anti-nausea medications directly into the bloodstream — faster and more effective than drinking fluids alone.
Most post-op clients feel dramatically better within an hour.

We provide private, clinically trained RN support for your post-operative patients during the most vulnerable phase of their recovery. Our role is to extend your standard of care not to replace it. Every service we deliver is aligned with your surgical protocol, and any clinical concerns are communicated to your team promptly and professionally.
Services include post-operative monitoring, incision and drain care, medication coordination, mobility assistance, swelling and complication surveillance, and structured follow-up support. We are available through tiered recovery packages or flexible hourly nursing, depending on the
